This event will be the start of the Library Foundation’s Literary Feast fundraising season, which continues on Friday, April 17 with LitLIVE! and culminates the evening of Saturday, April 18 with A Night of Literary Feasts, each featuring 10-12 acclaimed and best-selling authors. Proceeds from the three Literary Feast events support Broward County Library literacy programs and services funded by the Broward Public Library Foundation.

More than 250 guests enjoyed the 15th annual LitLUNCH! event, featuring Susan Page, best-selling author and USA Today Washington Bureau chief. In a lively and insightful presentation, Page discussed her recent book, The Rulebreaker: The Life and Times of Barbara Walters, highlighting Walters’ trailblazing career and the lasting impact she had on women in media.
Held on Feb. 21 at the new Pier Sixty-Six, this year’s LitLUNCH co-chairs were Laurie M. Ernest-Jones and Marianna Seiler DeJager. Honorary Chair was Gale Butler, who served as chair of the first LitLUNCH!, which was held at Pier Sixty-Six’s Pier Top lounge.
Guests had the opportunity to bid on a unique live auction that included roundtrip JetBlue airline tickets for two guests to Washington, D.C. for cocktails with Susan Page at the Watergate Hotel, as well as a multi-package raffle.
Proceeds support Broward County Library literacy programs, including the Career Online High School, which was highlighted at the luncheon.
