About the Author:

Mel Taylor is an Emmy Award-winning South Florida TV news reporter and the author of the new thriller novel The Disclosure (Severn River Publishing, June 2025), the third installment of the Booker Johnson murder series. Mel graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Radio and Television from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and is the recipient of several TV awards, including a local lifetime achievement award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and an award from the Society of Professional Journalists. Mel uses his background in television news to help form the character of Booker Johnson, a TV reporter who solves murders. Each of Mel’s books are set in South Florida, where his characters move from the sandy beaches to the exotic and mysterious Florida Everglades. To learn more about Mel, visit MelTaylor.com.

About Books & Bites:

Attendees partake in light bites while enjoying a presentation by a local author followed by lively Q&A, book sales, and signings. This event is normally held in Fort Lauderdale three times a year: in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. The event is free to attend for Library Foundation members at the $50 level; all others are welcome to attend at a cost on a space-available basis.
