Over the years, the event has connected South Floridians with more than 500 highly-acclaimed authors. Through the generosity of sponsors, dinner hosts and guests, Literary Feast has raised $4 million for vital Broward County Library programs and services for children and youth.
Its roots date back to 1984, when library volunteer Betty Lou Rose Ellis and a team of volunteers produced our first fundraising social event, “Le Bal Masque de la Bibliotheque”. In 1988, they premiered the concept of Literary Feast – dinners with nationally recognized authors in private homes.
Over the years, the event has grown to include authors speaking to high school students (Author Day for Students) panel discussions at local Barnes & Noble’s stores (LitLIVE!) and a highly anticipated women’s luncheon (LitLUNCH!).
The Foundation wants to thank all those who have played such important roles in this unique community tradition. And thank you for everyone who joined us on March 2, 2019 at Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach to celebrate our 31st Night of Literary Feasts! We hope you will join us again in spring of next year for Night of Literary Feasts 2020.
A big thank you to our 2019 Event Committee:
