Literary Feast is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2018.
Over the years, the event has connected South Floridians with more than 500 of the highly-acclaimed authors. Through the generosity of sponsors, dinner hosts and guests, Literary Feast has raised $4 million for vital Broward County Library programs and services for children and youth.
Its roots date back to 1984, when library volunteer Betty Lou Rose Ellis and a team of volunteers produced our first fundraising social event, “Le Bal Masque de la Bibliotheque”. In 1988, they premiered the concept of Literary Feast – dinners with nationally recognized authors in private homes.
Over the years, the event has grown to include authors speaking to high school students (Author Day for Students) panel discussions at local Barnes & Noble’s stores (LitLIVE!) and a highly anticipated women’s luncheon (LitLUNCH!).
The Foundation wants to thank all those who have played such important roles in this unique community tradition. Please join us as we toast to another successful 30 years!
